· Has these two (2) professional licenses: Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) / Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) – both issued by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). CIA obtained in 2009; CRMA in 2013.
· Has an MBA with emphasis in Healthcare Management; Bachelor’s is in Accounting; Minor in Economics.
· Started career in audit back in 1999, as a Medicare Auditor, at WellPoint (Camarillo).
· Worked as a SOX Senior Auditor at Ernst & Young; one of the longest clients worked for – Health Net (Woodland Hills).
· Worked as a Senior Internal Auditor at Kaiser Permanente (Pasadena).
· Worked as a Senior Internal Auditor at Memorial Health Services (Fountain Valley). They own: Long Beach Memorial/Miller Children’s, Orange Coast, and Saddleback Hospitals. Also, they own two medical groups: MemorialCare Medical Group & Greater Newport Physicians.
· Worked as a Director of Compliance & Risk Management at South Coast Community Services (mental health agency; contracted provider of two counties: San Bernardino & Orange County; providing mental health counseling, therapy, Wraparound services, psychiatric services, community-based program, and residential Group Homes; Santa Ana/Costa Mesa) – built corporate Compliance function for them.
· Worked as a Senior Manager of Internal Audit at LA Care Health Plan (similar to Cal Optima here, in Orange County; downtown Los Angeles) – built corporate Internal Audit function for them.
